Zines in the mail

Thought it was high time I do a little showcase of some of the amazing zines I’ve received recently – not many things make me as happy as seeing a little package at my door that definitely isn’t a bank statement/bill/threat. So without further a do, I present:

Fatbread magazine

Fatbread is a collective of illustrators which includes Gino Cullen, John Thurbin and Vicky Samuel. I love the mix of comics, creative writing, comedy illustrations and the colours just really do it for me. Awesome collective, will be watching these guys closely!

Fever Zine

This quarterly zine was made by writer Alex Zamora and designer Simon Whybray. I like how consistent the style is, and how ‘zine’ it feels (sorry, will try harder for better adjectives in the future). Check em out here.

Lionheart Magazine

I’m totally in love with everything about this first issue, and I’m so excited for round two. Beautiful quality production, every detail from the pattern on the inner pages and back cover, the choices of featured creatives, the original article subjects and overall theme (bravery) is just… omfg. Plus the editor Hels is truly an inspiration to me, I love her blog and what she’s achieved with Lionheart is amazing. Oh and the Lionheart site is pretty super too. I’ll stop gushing now.

Twofold Magazine

Finally, probably what I’m most excited about for egotistical reasons, is Twofold’s 3rd issue. This is a project I came across via Behance, which is a constant source of lucky finds for me btw, and when they offered an opportunity to be featured in their upcoming publication I was on it like a fat kid on cake. Anyway… it really is an amazing showcase; split into two halves, one side features typography talent, and the flipside is packed with illustrations. Lookie here:
